Doing: Get Things Done
Doing is the ultimate factor. Nothing can influence the outcome of that which you have already done. Doing is the empowering root of all skills. Master doing itself, and you can master doing anything.
Doology
Doology is the applied study of doing. Understanding that the larger world in which we live is the sum total of all the things humans do, doology is the study of the act of doing itself which is the basic building block of our lives and the shaping force of history.
The idea for this kind of doology comes from a very unlikely source. In the book On Killing, Lt. Col. David Grossman points out that understanding war without understanding killing is like understanding relationships without understanding sex: The act itself is the basis for the larger phenomenon. He posits killology as the study of factors that overcome our innate ethical resistance to killing and the psychological consequences. Doology is the study of factors that help us overcome our own apathetic resistance to doing positive things to better ourselves and our communities If violence is one of the worst things a person can do, then positive non-violent action should be much, much easier to master.
What Makes People Do Things?
"Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it."
Ideas, skills, tools and allies are four things that help people to get things done. They also need to have a doer attitude to succeed.

There are a number of factors that contribute to doing.
Enlisting Peer Pressure
Peer pressure is usually referred to as a negative thing but sometimes you can use it to your advantage. Suppose that you intend to do something important and you want every possible motivation to help ensure you do it without fail. By telling your friends that you will do it, you are enlisting peer support for something that you will do. You will feel even better about doing it knowing that your friends are supporting you and you would feel very silly about not doing it because your friends would know.
Other Meanings of Doology
There is an Interfaith group which already teaches a philosophy they call "Doology". Their focus is on African American community empowerment, and their proactive philosophy is an inspiration to all people and communities.
